NYU Transfer Thread - Fall 2010

Haven’t heard of anyone getting into steinhardt yet. That’s where I applied, too, but my application is still waiting on my freaking high school transcript… Ugh. I agree, it does seem like there’s a lot less people applying this year… That would be nice!

Javeb how do you know if your app is complete or not? Or rather, how do you know they received whether everything or not? :)

it seems as though nyu is beginning to release decisions! someone on the cornell forum already got an acceptance to CAS. I want to call about my application but i got scared by the “no news is good news” erikmoon…

I know that my high school transcript is in transit, so my application can’t be complete. But you can also call the admissions office to check and see if they have everything you’ve sent. If you haven’t done that already, I would do it. Good luck!

lol, no! you can call the admissions office and find out. The file clerks are really annoying to talk to though as they’re never really specific about which document is missing (at least in my case).

Firebird you are a transfer applicant? and already accepted to cas? wow!

hey everyone! i applied for transfer into the Urban Design and Architecture Studies program at CAS. hope we get some good news soon!

@FIREBIRD91 I also asked Stryke this question: when did you submit your app? He submitted his on March 15th hence the early response I assume, but then I guess we can’t just assume early correspondence automatically goes with submitting an app early.

I don’t think NYU makes decision on a rolling basis. I submitted on March 7, however the teacher’s recommendation was not in until the deadline. This whole thing is driving me crazy right now. Expecting to see the envelop lying in the mailbox some day this week, hope it’s a big one.

Aw, that sucks! Hopefully that was okay. At least you turned in your stuff early, I don’t think they should blame you/delay your decision too much because of the later submission of the rec letter. I submitted my app on the evening of March 31st, and then the next day handed in a big envelope that included all my transcripts, recommendations, portfolio, and the rest of the supporting material they need/might need, to avoid misfiling and whatnot.

I hope both of us (ALL of us) get our news soon and hopefully it’ll be good news!

Thewoman, did you hand in your big packet at the welcome center? I’m going tomorrow to hand in my missing transcript and they told me to go there instead of the admissions office which I thought was a little strange.

hey i know that people say that no news is good news but i thought i remember reading somewhere that they email you letting you know that everything is in and fine again i am not sure i just am asking maybe i am confusing it with another school! ahh this wait is unbearable hoping to hear good news soon

@jorg - At this point you only hear from them if your app is missing something.

Yeah hand supplemental stuff in at the welcome center’s front desk. where you applying from?

Also apparently Stryke didn’t get any news or correspondence from them after confirmation of acceptance and prior to receiving his acceptance packet so I’m sure if someone gets a your application is completely complete! message then maybe it’s just a coincidental exception? Hmm.

@thewoman

what department did u apply to?

I’m applying from Queens College. What about you?

I’m applying from Queens College. What about you?
