nyu , uchicago, uill, georgetown political science focuses

<p>I am an austrian political sciences student who wants to go an semester abroad to the us.
following universities would be possible for me:
NYU
Georgetown
University of Chicago
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
Washington and Jefferson College</p>

<p>so my question: what are the focuses of the political science depts?</p>

<p>what would you prefer for american politics?</p>

<p>what would you general prefer?</p>

<p>where shouldn't i go?</p>

<p>Personally, I’m a fan of the cities, so I would chose either NYU, Georgetown, or U of Chicago. I don’t know much about U of Illinois or Washington and Jefferson (though the latter is supposed to be a decent school).</p>

<p>Georgetown is in D.C., so as far as resources for political science, you’d probably get the best deal. There are internships galore in D.C., especially for american politics.</p>

<p>I’m actually looking at NYU for undergrad polisci, but I’m focusing more on international relations so the UN is a big factor. Also, it is a very urban campus which some people love, and others absolutely abhor. </p>

<p>U of Chicago is a great school (and it looks like Hogwarts) but you probably aren’t going to get the best internship/work-study opportunities in Chicago as you would D.C. or New York.</p>
