Nyu umich usc ?

NYU - Tisch
UMICH - Screen Arts
USC - Cinematic Arts

I'm completely torn between these three.

NYU - I live right by NYC so I'm there almost every other day and I know many people who go there and love it. Pro: location -- New York City means its easier to find jobs in film but it might just be too close for me.

UMICH - Really interesting program and I also know a lot of people who go there at love it, but it's not really in a film - based area.

USC - Perfect area for film but I've heard that it's sort of sketchy and UCLA would be better.

Personally I would go with NYU since you’re familiar with the area and you’ll still get a great education. The other 2 schools are good options too, though. Try visiting the other two if you can to see if they’re the right fit for you.

There are lots of movies being made in Michigan these days due to tax incentives, though with the new governor things are changing a bit.

Website Error | Michigan Business;

All good choices. The film industry in Michigan has been doing a lot of its work in Ann Arbor and there have been good opportunities for students to get involved. There are also a lot of student based films. They showed one of them at an admitted students event. It was quite good.

I don’t think Michigan is competitive with Tisch or USC in film.

Wait until you find which of these three admit(s) you, and then decide.

USC for film… nothing can compare… maybe tisch but still behind
tisch for maybe indie films or TV
