I have a fairly solid film portfolio. I once spent 2 years to craft a stop motion short film. I animated and did everything by myself (except composing the music).
But by sacrificing my time on film, my academics aren’t that good.
I have a 3.8 weighted GPA.
1480/1600 SAT.
8 AP’s. Four 5’s and four 4’s.
Extremely mediocre outside activities.
What are my chances in each (in percentage numbers)?
USC?
NYU?
Northwestern?
I would say your weighted GPA is low for all three schools. What’s your unweighted GPA? Your AP scores are great, though, and your SAT score is pretty good. I’m not sure how admission into film majors works, but I would also consider applying to Loyola Marymount University in LA.

So even with my portfolio, are you advising to apply to smaller schools since my chances are too low for these 3?
