Yes, I know there’s a couple hundred posts about comparing colleges out here, but I was looking for a more updated, personalized opinion. So, here’s the dilemma:
New York University @ $72,900/year
Arizona State University @ $30,970/year
University of Florida @ $18,140/year
It would seem intuitive to kick NYU out, but NY has always been a dream of mine (also, I really want to study abroad and NYU seems pretty big on that), and it’s where I want to live after I graduate. I would totally get a job and maybe be able to pay ~$15,000 a year myself. Between the other two, Arizona would be my top choice because as far as location goes, Arizona is WAY better Florida in my opinion (I’ve lived in both states).
As for how I would be paying, my parents would be covering most of it, but they would only pay ~$30,000 a year, and take the rest out in loans.
I also got into Florida State University @ $30,728, but I’ve pretty much eliminated that one (as well as FIU).
Well, NYU is out, since you cannot borrow $42,900 per year without a cosigner.
Picking NYU (@ $72,900/year) for CS would be insane. Go to ASU or UF and do your internships in NYU (or near the city). You can also travel aboard at the other two schools (especially with the $ you would be saving, by NOT going to NYU).
How is FSU $30K a year (while UF is $18K)? Didn’t you get the out of state tuition waiver? Having UF be cheaper happens but that’s super rare.
Good Luck!
