NYU vs Brown

help...accepted to both

no money from brown but 25,000/yr from NYU...

I'm so confused.

if money is important to you, nyu

if not, brown all the way

What's your desired major and career path? 100K over four years is a serious chunk of change, but Brown offers a much more well rounded undergraduate experience.

Can you appeal your financial aid award from Brown?

no, and I could afford Brown...but at the same time I want to go to Graduate School...

Im thinking of the internship opportunities NYC would have to offer also..but to me, Ivy League is a once in a lifetime opportunity

well
ull be getting a one of a kind scholarship at NYU (since they never give like any money)

ide choose NYU, so u can go to gradschool

and ide figure internships would be mostly better at NYU

The concept that summer internship opportunities are more bountiful in urban campuses is a myth. Brown students seeking internships in NYC over the summer should have no trouble getting them.

FYI--
My D graduated from Columbia. Out-of-staters have some priority over NYC kids for summer internships in the city. Businesses want to do a test run on all the best students, regardless of location ... and so they count on the NYC kids doing fall and spring internships. I would def pick Brown if you can afford it. Far better education and rep. Do your summers in NYC.

Brown might have a better reputation but not a $100k/4 years reputation! I'd choose NYU & the money without a doubt...If you're looking for a liberal arts education you can definetley get it at NYU if you try. Best of luck with your tough decision!

JFK jr. went to Brown undergrad, and NYU for law school. The fact that he could get thru both of them might make u want to look at more schools.

I'd choose Brown and pay the sticker price. Its a cut above NYU and the campus/ social life is a much better experience in my opinion.

The OP chose NYU over Brown.
