I was just wondering whether Stern or Haas would be better for an undergraduate business major. I heard Stern is better for finance but Haas is more well rounded. Then there's the length of the program, reapplication to Haas, location, price, etc to consider. I am having trouble weighing the pros and cons of each program, so I am hoping to hear other opinions.

If you can stand the weirdness, I think Berkeley is really good. It's also way cheaper than what out of state tuition would cost you at NYU. Haas is really community oriented, but I don't really know much about NYU.

Both are great schools, but it depends what you are looking for in terms of campus feel? Personally, I would go to NYU for its LOCATION and reputation. Stern has a lot of recruiters from the business world. Haas also has a great reputation but you cannot compete with NYU's location.

Stern has more presence than Haas on the East Coast and Haas has more presence than Stern on the West Coast. Everywhere else, they are about the same.

Haas is also much smaller than Stern. Haas only has two classes of 350 students. Stern has four classes of 550 students.

Stern admits you straight out of high school, which is nice. Haas is riskier, expecting its students to complete two years at Cal before applying to Haas. There are no guarantees with Haas.

As you touched upon, Haas is well rounded, with highly regarded Finance, General Management and Marketing departments. NYU is primarily a Finance school.

Of course, I am sure many have mentioned this before. Haas/Cal has a well defined and cohesive campus. Stern/NYU does not really have a campus in the traditional sense.

IF you get in, Haas @ in-state tuition > NYU Stern, IMHO.

I actually agree with the above. Haas is a better deal for you considering you will be paying instate, because like I said they are great schools..

I heard it's quite difficult to get into Hass. Usually, students are top performing students at Cal who are admitted into Hass program. Stern is a much safer option and would provide you good job prospects anyway. If learning business as an undergrad is your solid plan, go with Stern.
