I am having a lot of trouble trying to decide between a college before the May 1 deposit deadline. I am trying to decide between NYU or Cornell Univesity and would love for some input on the pros and cons of each school.
A little info about my preferences:
-want to work in broadcast journalism, but I am considering a job in the international affairs field
-hope to double major in international relations
-like the city
-want the best education
- good internship opportunities
- study abroad opportunities
If costs are not an issue, I would choose Cornell.
You like the city. You want to be in the media and you have an international slant. NYU happens to be in the most sought after city in the universe for journalism/media and is the definition of global presence.
Cornell is an Ivy League school. So it’s nothing to take lightly. I bet they have one of the best journalism degrees in the world.
But broadcast journalism and international flare, my guess is that NYU has as much or more cachet in network offices and with overseas citizens as any school other than HYPS.
@rosecollege Look at this website for Cornell’s international studies program:

Cornell is the only Ivy to offer a communications major, but are you admitted to College of Agriculture and Life Sciences? What program are you admitted to at Cornell ? What program at NYU?

@Coloradomama At Cornell I was admitted to the College of Ariguculre and Life Science with a major in Communication. At NYU I was admitted to the College Of Arts and Science with a major in journalism.
