Which one do you prefer?
I mean even though NYU is ranked in 29th and Emory in the 21st, programs that NYU offers me seems more attractive.
I really do not care about all the cost of university life. For me, NYU and Emory need not a significant amount of living cost.
What I am concerning is Emory is harder to get in looking at the statistics, and all the other people, including me, seem to believe that Emory has much more “fame” in undergraduate level. I am not even stern so this is so hard choice for me.
NYU seems easier to get GPA than Emory/ perfect location/ great alumni.
but the only thing is : ranking.
Can somebody help me out choosing the school?
You should choose a college based on the best fit for you. You will do best where you are happiest. Far, far more important than ranking.
There are over 3000 colleges in the US. Do you really think a school ranked 21st vs. 29th is notably superior, educationally? Of course not.
Learn as much as you can about both (and other) schools and attend the one which you would thrive in. Good luck!
LOL it doesn’t matter which one I prefer- I amn’t the one who is going to spend 4 years at one or the other.
In the real world they are peer schools: for jobs, contacts, academic credentials, etc. there is no meaningful difference. I know a lot of students who have applied to both. The differences in rankings (and remember that there are a lot of rankings) are not meaningful.
I am surprised that you think Emory has more ‘fame’ - I wouldn’t have thought there was any much difference in the perceived prestige, and that NYU as a name is more widely recognized.
I am not sure if I understand your point- both schools cost about $70K / year. If you mean that is not a significant amount of money for you, then absolutely go to whichever you like better. Of course, first you have to get the offers…
