NYU vs. Fordham??

ok i got accepted to both nyu and fordham...but i dont know which to pick!
Fordham was WAY more generous in aid compared to NYU (about double the tuition) i mean i dont know whether to pick the equally good school fordham or go with tthe more prestigious NYU...ive heard nyu grads get better job offering than fordham grads because its more well know/prestigious. but im NOT RICH whatsoever, so what do you guys think? would it be a wise choice to do fordham undergrad, and nyu grad? helppppp mee plzz!!!

anyone have any advice?

NYU is no doubt the better school, but Fordham is a good school as well and it gave you money. That's what it's going to come down to. Personally, I think NYU could be worth the money because of experience you can get from there, plus the NYU name will help. BUT, Fordham is a good school as well.

Where do you see yourself doing better, because you can honestly have a good life after graduating from both colleges.

Go with Fordham. NYU may be more prestigious, but arguably you will get a better education at Fordham (strong core, smaller classes, more personal attention, etc.) -- and Fordham is well-respected and probably has a very strong alumni network when it comes to opportunities for employment. You will have many MORE options for employment if you have less debt, because you will be able to cast a wider net and consider jobs that may pay less to start, but have better opportunities for advancement.

My spouse attended NYU and my sister-in-law attended Fordham. Fordham seems to be more generous with aid, so if money is a big concern, then I would recommend going to Fordham--despite the less brand name appeal. If you are interested in having a true NYC experience, you can always go to the Rose Hill campus at Lincoln Center.

Congrats on your acceptances!

The "Rose Hill" campus is in the Bronx. The Lincoln Center campus is called "Lincoln Center".

You really need to visit both Fordham and NYU for a day (if you haven't already). They are very different in their educational philosophy and their college "experience". It really isn't a subtle difference.

Think about what you are looking for in college and then study these 2 colleges closely, because they differ much more than they overlap. In fact, Fordham is like a "split personality" in the sense that the College at Lincoln Center provides a very different collegiate experience than the Rose Hill campus, which can make a significant impact to the enjoyment for some.

But, if after all this, you still can't decide, then I recommend the one with the better financial aid package.

good luck...

They're very different. You must not have visited and compared if you seriously don't know which you prefer.
