NYU vs. Georgetown for Undergrad Business?

what are the pros/cons of each?

umm....bump?

NYU is the better place to study business since it's in NY;
GT: idk

Are you talking about Stern? If so then Stern is overwhelmingly better than Gtown. It's comparable to Ivy League undergrad business...

"Ivy League undergrad businss" ... Wow, it must be good!

what about career placement? is it easier getting a high-pay job coming out of Gtown or Stern? i heard both places have intense financial firm recruiting

Stern slightly, definitely if you want to work in NYC.

^

....namely Wharton.

Wharton probably thinks they are way above Ivy League for undergrad business.

Stern is better than McDonough.

However, you won't have trouble finding jobs coming out of either school.
It's not as if one school will prepare you better than the other.
However, Stern is in New York City and ranked very high among the business schools.

By default, my dear boy.

i think you need to think about the big picture.
what do you want in a school?
a campus or no campus? your answer to that question will make you chose which is better for you.

i agree with liek0806, the programs are comprable but the universities are very different. remember that NYU is not like a typical university - it doesn't have a campus. the campus is the city. and also remember the religious aspect that you get with georgetown. i'd say make your decision between the schools, not the business schools (although you should factor that in slightly)

Looks like NYU's dean preferred Georgetown. NYU's George Daley took over the reigns at Georgetown in 2002. dean daley stern - Google Search

Seriously though, if you want to be in NYC and work in finance, and that's all you care about NYU is a good option. If you're interested in having a more traditional and well-rounded undergraduate experience go to Georgetown. You'll still be able to land a job in NYC, but it won't be as convenient as it is for the NYU students, who can intern throughout the school year.

I think NYU is a much better school reguardless of major. Plus it's in New York City

NYU wins in these rankings....

Undergrad - BSchools

Definitely NYU.
