Anyone else debating between these two schools?
what have you decided

They are really different. I don't have that choice, but ask yourself the following questions:

1) Would I prefer a school that is big or one that is small?
2) Which one has the better financial aid package?
3) Would I prefer a campus or no real campus?
4) Is it strong in my major?
5) Is "campus life" an absolute necessity for me?
6) What is my gut telling me?

They're really different schools... odd schools to have to choose from. What school at NYU, btw?

General Studies

aid is similar
class size will be similar
both strong in dept. I like

Well, all I can tell you now is to visit both... or flip through both of their viewbooks. You might also want to contact professors from each school. It might (or might not) help you come to your decision.

If music is among your interests, Oberlin would be a better choice.

What's you're social style?--if you are extroverted, make friends easily, really enjoy urban advantages: theater, street scene, something always going on, love ethnic diversity and can resist permanent temptation to activities and actually get some studying done--NYU would suit you.
If you want a stronger sense of community, crave occasional peace and serenity, would enjoy knowing most of your fellow students --at least by sight, if not by name, prefer a slower pace of life and more intimate friendships rather than endless variety and hype--maybe Oberlin would be better for you.
