So I just paid my deposit for nyu, but today smith called to tell me I have been accepted off the waitlist. My major is undecided, and I really have no idea what I want to do other than be in a place that is fun and intellectual and grants a lot of opportunities. I was all ready to go to nyu, but this smith thing has got me reeling. They are two very different college experiences. Could anyone contribute their opinions? Btw I visited them both, and they were both seemingly great in their own right. Just so very different. Help!

It really depends on what you want from your college experience. Do you want a campus, a smaller school, and less of a night life/party scene. Then go to Smith. Do you want urban, less campus, but more stuff to do at night? Do NYU.
I’m going to Smith and I am super biased, but join the Smith facebook group. We are already all super close and talk CONSTANTLY. I think this will continue at Smith and then for our whole lives. I don’t think you’ll get that at NYU(but you’ll get different things at NYU)…Pick SMITH

My younger D has been accepted as a transfer student by Smith. Last year she applied to NYU. As Louise said, they are very different but both very good schools.

No one here can tell you what the right choice is for YOU, particularly since none of us know you. Do your parents have thoughts, since they know you well? What about friends and teachers?

What does YOUR gut say?
