NYU vs. UNCSA or DePaul drama

Hate to break it to the bathroom folks, but our kids are training for acting. It’s a field not exactly known for its material luxuries.National Tours consist of long bus rides with gross bathrooms; shows on stage have gross tiny bathrooms and as I mentioned earlier, you are often dressing and undressing right in front of each other because of limited space.

And you’re not exactly usually raking it in money-wise; most actors consider themselves lucky if they can support themselves reliably from their acting. If they want and need nice bathrooms and personal space, they may find they have a really long hard road ahead of them once they graduate and support themselves with acting gigs, especially if they plan on living in NYC

I thought my comment on the NYU toilets would be taken as a joke… Satire doesn’t always translate well online…

I wasn’t referring to you, SDonCC–I saw it was a joke. Thought it was funny. Was responding to the general thread but was out of sync. Apologies for any misunderstanding!

@SDonCC I promise you I for one got the joke. I think most everyone did. I respect that this is a subject that actually has meaning to some people. That’s OK. My participation in this subject (be it school choices or bathrooms) was always one of respectfully recognizing that what matters to one, might not be what matters to the other.

Potty humor though is just to hard to walk away from. If you go there you have got to know people will respond like tittering 11 year old boys. It’s the reason why Captain Underpants books were so popular.

I mostly had fun with this thread. A couple of left hand turns here and there but otherwise, I think most people got the joke. I didn’t get to “like” the comments that came at the end that I SO wanted to because I didn’t want to be seen as a bully but oh how I laughed… I really did and still am. Thank you and you know who you are.

Posting here with admiration for all the the amazing students. Kudos to them and their parents. Snf And I mean no disrespect for any one that needs their privacy. I was responding to the thread about which school had the best bathrooms. I have the greatest respect for all of these performers that put their heart and soul out there. But I know an eye opening reality when they arrive in NYC. Best wishes to all.

Check the alumni for the schools and compare who has working actors.
