NYU vs. USC for fine arts major

I got into Steinhardt and Roski as a fine arts major. I haven't gotten word of my finaid for NYU as of yet, but I have half of my tuition paid + finaid paid for USC, making it cheaper than going to a UC, haaaaaaha. I live in California, by the way.

Distance or weather don't really matter to me. Keep in note that I'm also possibly considering about switching my major to film if I find out I don't really like fine arts as I thought I did. Anyway, I'm not really a fine arts kind of girl; I'd rather do illustration/design/media arts. (I got rejected from UCLA desma :( :( :()

USC sounds good purely because of the connections, and I know that if I do continue down art, I'll build practically everything based on the connections I have. On the other hand, NYU sounds so much more creatively promising.

around how much is the tuition for both?

My tuition for USC is ummm maybe 20,000? NYU, I've yet to know because they haven't sent me finaid info yet. It's 51,000 without, though.

my son is in kind of the same boat (not the money issue) but deciding between usc, nyu, and risd fine arts. his dilema is that he also, is sure he wants to just do art for 4 years and may want to be able to switch to theatre or film. we’re just not sure if that is going to be possible at nyu or usc… seems like it might be a little easier at usc. any thoughts anyone.
