I got into NYU, for the college of arts and sciences and i got into the university of south carolina honors program. is nyu worth the money? and where do you think the education would be better?

It’s next to impossible to answer which college is better without having more information about what you want to get out of your college experience and/or do with your life.

If you’re planning on pursuing a career in which social networks and business contacts are important, then I would recommend NYU – unless you’re planning on staying in South Carolina, in which case USC might be better (or at least just as good).

Another important consideration is what major you think you want to pursue. Even if one university is generally better than another, sometimes the “worse” school has a better program in your area of interest.

Also, how important is culture to your notion of a good education? At NYU, you would have the opportunity to explore vastly more culture-rich experience than at USC.

Still, honors colleges usually doth have their advantages. How valuable are USC’s honor program perks? For some people, a perk like taking more than the normal maximum number of credit hours is huge and allows them to finish school in three years instead of four.

Well, in college, I am hoping to pursue a career in medicine. I do not know what kind of doctor I want to be, but I do know for sure that I want to be a doctor. I want to go to the college which will best prepare me for getting into medical school and which will help me be successful in everything I do. Of course, I will have to work hard wherever I go, but I want to know which choice is the best, for what I want to do. NYU is very expensive, but it is a well known college, well respected, and the education must be just as good. It is filled with influential people, and in the future, I want to live in New York. I just don’t know if it is worth it, paying almost 50,000 a year for a college. I know, if money was not an issue, I would definitely go to NYU, no doubt. But, because of money, I want to make sure I make the right decision. If I have a better chance of getting into medical school from USC honors, I want to go there and if I have a better chance of getting into medical school from NYU, then I want to go there. My dad told me that it did not matter where I went for undergraduate, because in the end, my MCAT score and my grades and class rank are ultimately what its going to come down to. I do not know what I want to major in yet…but it will most likely be Biology. I still need to think about that. And yes, NYU will definitely offer me a wider variety of people and cultures and I do think that is important, but I am definitely wanting to base my decision on which college will provide me with a higher chance of getting into medical school and which school will provide me with a better education overall. I should probably learn more about each, and I have looked on websites and college forums, but I am having a hard time finding an answer. I have tried calling both schools and asking for their medical school acceptance rates, but I have not been very successful for that. Thank you for your answer though and if you could reply to this, that would be wonderful, because I am very confused right now.
