NYU vs. USC

I've been accepted to USC (Dean's scholarship), International Relations Global Business major. I've also been accepted to NYU's Stern business school (no scholarship), International Business comajor.

I need help deciding between the two! I'm from California and I've always wanted to go to the East Coast but the hefty price tag is a huge turn off and their lack of school spirit/pride in sports is lamentable. And honestly, I do love Cali too. I don't think it's too clear which school has the better international relations/business program either, which is the most important thing for me. Both are in amazing cities (the fact that the neighborhood immediately surrounding USC is very iffy actually doesn't bother me that much).

HELP. Persuade me please; which is better, where should I go?

Go to USC. Great business program, huge alumni network, you’ll get plenty of local recruiters, you’re getting better aid, school pride, big sports teams, traditional college feel…

NYU is the more reputable program (Stern is in with Haas, Ross, Sloan); but it comes down to the cost factor.

NYU has a great program (ranked 11th) that IS better than USC. However, the smart decision here is to save money and attend USC. USC’s program is in the top 30, and as drone said, you will have a large alumni network. I can’t stress the traditional college feel enough, either. I visited NYU and absolutely hated hated HATED it. It didn’t have that normal college vibe at all. When visiting campuses like UVA, USC, etc., they were just so much more in tune with me. That way be different for you, but I would never advise someone to attend NYU without visiting.

Go the the school that will cost you the least. Both are great schools, you will only be there 4 years but the debt will stay with you long afterward.

USC, can’t turn down that much money.
