i want to be an entertainment agent, with that said, new york city is a close 2nd to los angeles in terms of the entertainment industry, so i was wondering if i went to NYU instead of USC, how is the entertainment business aspect of NYU..is it even existent as it is in USC..job opportunities?

NYU has a Music Business major

And here's the undergrad curriculum

And there's this, which is a club, but if you read the message under "About Us" you'll see a reference to an entertainment business academic concentration in Stern and Tisch.

http://pages.stern.nyu.edu/~steba/#

but is there an entertainmant business in stern...or any where in NYU that would help with becoming an entertainment agent?

There's not a specific "entertainment business" at Stern, but there are certain classes at Stern you can take which pertains to that major.

Why don't you call the advisers and ask directly?

NYC is the mass media capital, head of the mainstream culture. If you can't get help from NYU at becoming an entertainment agent, I don't know where you can. NYU's got great connections with many internship opportunities in the city.

What kind of entertainment do you want to do?

Just a personal bias: In my opinion, NYC is more widely-accepted, culturally diverse, and prestigious than LA. As new as LA is, it's still not recognized in many places outside of its Hollywood niche. If you want to get trained professionally for mainstream entertainment, I'd recommend New York City.. it's actually something I want to pursue myself.

I went to visit UCLA last year and ventured out around Santa Monica/ Hollywood for some possible model-management training schools. I found most of them to be too low-maintenance, appealing to only the current pop culture trends. There are also too many freelancers cruising around.

Entertainment Business? New York City. Get trained professionally from the top dogs.

i wanna be involved with the major actors and major movie producers, directors and major movies that are represented in hollywood, i know a lot of this does "go down" in NYC as well...and many major agencies have offices there too..so NYU would be a great place for becoming a talent/entertainment agent?
