<p>I received an email yesterday at noon stating that I was accepted, and that a package would come later in the day. It arrived at around six or seven, but I just opened it today.</p>

<p>really? but what about people who just got off the waitlist these past days, werent they given 2 weeks to decide to go to NYU? and so the housing deadline would pass for them…?</p>

<p>Guys last year they took 52 percent off the waiting list… Outa about 1000 so about 500 around… I called them up they said more people gave in deposits this year so I’m thinking worst case scenario… Its like regular admissions rate around 35 percent or something… So ya its gonna b less but no way have most people gotten in off the waitlist yet… So don’t worry</p>

<p>Only 3 or 4 ppl said they have goten off that can’t be nearly close to everyone… Do you really think its a rejection if we didn’t hear back by now?</p>

<p>^There is some hope left seeing as the deadline for notification is June 4th. I’m guessing if something doesn’t arrive in the mail by Friday it’s over. Though if it is true that acceptance rates are back to normal levels, the waitlist rates are probably also back to normal, between 1-5% accepted.</p>

<p>Anyways, i just found somethin regarding the waitlist that changes nothing but may be somewhat optimistic…
On the initial WaitList letter we all received, it says we won’t be notified later than June 4…but on the website NYU says June 5.
yea idk, maybe they need more time</p>

<p>anyone get an email today? it said “please confirm if you still want to stay on the waitlist. the incoming class appears to be full at this point, but hey if any of incoming freshmen withdraw in the summer then you might be able to get in”</p>

<p>then you had to go back to the NYU waitlist website which i posted above, then you had to re enter all information and confirm to stay on the waitlist.</p>

<p>am i the only one? and so i am assuming that the class is full at this point and all decisions have been mailed and so i have been rejected for sure then…?</p>

<p>edit: called them, confirmed that the waitlist is done for, only hope is if anyone withdraws this summer</p>

<p>It looks like NYU accepted 52% of the WL in 2008. The WL admits are 12% of the entire class. So, it looks to me like you have a 1:2 chance of being accepted. I would say that those are very good odds. I did not see the stats from 2009. </p>
