Well, I am an international applicant who just got waitlisted from NYU Stern
since we didn't have an official waitlist thread, I decided to start one :)
but i'm really hopeful about the waitlist this year because of the declining US economy (many admitted students will not be able to afford NYU/not receive enough Fin aid) and head off to other schools with better fin aid or lower tuition costs. hopefully the fact that i'm paying full tuition is attractive to them! should i write an email stating my interest in NYU?

Waitlisted, but I mean I’m not terribly disappointed. Got Ross pre admit/ Northwestern to choose from now and hoping for Wharton tomorrow. Not taking the spot, but good luck to everyone else

…but yeah, you should sent in any significant accomplishments/awards you received since the application. If your 2nd semester grades are good than that would help you.

yeah i also have carnegie mellon tepper, Umich Ross and other UK universities to choose from…
this is my second waitlist (first one from northwestern). the thing is that NYU is my dream school so i’m willing to give everything up if they offered me admission :(

I am pretty sure that it is going to be a small envelope.
It will just inform you that they are still consierig you and will contact you by like May somthing if you got in.

yes, you probably do have a good chance since its way too expensive and a lot of people, including myself, probably wont be able to go. if you really do want to go to nyu, you should write them a letter. say you’re still interested, thank them for still considering you, mention new achievements, and that you dont need financial aid…etc. good luck:)

So if we got the email asking about interest two days ago and responded positively is the blog post basically saying that we’re one of the 250 being taken off the waitlist?
