NYU (Wilf Family Dept) IR grad program

Is anyone familiar with this program?

NYU > Politics > Master's Program

Originally, I hadn't heard of it, but I came across it by searching US News and World Report's rankings for International Politics grad programs.
I searched the forum, but the last question about the program was from 2004, and I get the impression that it's changed quite a bit since.

Is anyone familiar with this program? How does it stand next to SIPA? Or any of the other DC, NYC, Boston progs?

It didn't rank in Foreign Policy's top 20:

NOTE: I'm not someone who goes only by rankings, which is why I'm asking here. I'm just presenting what I can find....

not sure if this is what you’re looking for

[International Politics - Political Science - Graduate Schools - Education - US News and World Report](http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-political-science-schools/international-politics)

but apparently NYU is ranked by US News at tied for #10 with MIT

I’ve seen the ranking quite a while ago, and as a NYer I can say that I was pretty surprised to see it there. I personally do not know of anyone who graduated from that program but I know plenty of people from SIPA, New School and other surrounding schools with similar fields. For what it’s worth, I remember talking to an advisor there some time around 2005 about the NYU MA in politics, and the incoming class (off the top of my head) averaged 3.3 GPA’s and 85th percentile verbal GRE’s. I’m not sure if that’s helpful, but that will give you some idea as to what you’re working against from the admissions stand point.

NYU also has a relatively new “Global Affairs” program at SCPS, you may want to look there, however I’m not sure what that means to prospective employers when comparing the two.
