Hey guys so this is a question about gpa. My couselers have told me all throughout highschool weighted gpa is all they care about im taking almost all honors ap classes and have a 3.9 weighted...but 3.2 unweighted. Will the unweighted really matter what school should i be looking at. I havent taken sats yet

Your guidance counsellors are right, most schools (the overwhelming majority) look at your weighted GPA, as it is a much more fair representation of the hard work you’ve done in taking challenging classes (an A in a regular class is not the same as an A in an AP class, its just common sense). As for your chances at New York University, you’re GPA looks great, but you can’t be sure until you’ve taken the SAT’s.

Could you maybe chance me back? My post is "Need help with college application decisions’

Thanks!
