Does anyone know whether a lot of people have been admitted to NYU so far? I would think so since other schools have admitted a large number by now. The reason I ask is that my son applied in early December and has not heard yet. NYU’s website says it may not give responses until April 30th even though it realizes that many other schools require deposits before then. It would seem that they would still have to admit most of the students much earlier than that so that they could attend admitted student session and weigh NYU with their other acceptances. My son is happy with the other schools where he has been admitted; he would certainly consider NYU but won’t be heartbroken if denied. It would certainly be nice to know, however. It does seem that he is most likely in a “probably not” pile since he has not heard. So mostly we are just curious whether NYU has a tendency to admit late, or if anyone has any insight on this.
Has he sent a letter of continued interest (LOCI)? Some schools almost seem to wait for these. My d waited longer than she expected to for a response from UVA, and received her admit call within 48 hours of sending the LOCI. If he hasn’t heard, I’d imagine there’s still a fair chance of being admitted.
Toplawchools usually has many applicants discussing application results for specific schools - you or your son might want to check out their NYU class of 2018 info.
yes, NYU has already accepted lotsa students. Frazzled is correct – send a letter of interest if he desires NYU. Heck, if your S is full pay & NYU is his #1, he can even tell them that he’d withdraw from other law schools and deposit there if offered. (Personally, don’t think NYU is worth full pay, but that is your/his decision.)
