I’m applying to NYU 3.86/4 UW and 5.25/6 W
Excellent EC’s
Good Rec’s
15 AP’s (1 B)
2 B’s in Honors
1 Regular Class B
1500/1600
No ACT
Want to go into banking, any other schools I should think about? Really like Indiana

NYU doesn’t look like it’ll be too difficult for you to get in, assuming your ECs are as good as you claim. With those stats, you’ve got at least a 70% chance.
For other good finance/business programs with your stats…you could be competitive pretty much anywhere. Wharton (Penn), UCLA, UC Berkeley, MIT, Michigan, Northwestern, UChicago…
Don’t you think my B’s will hold me back at Wharton, and also do you think that they’ll let me into Stern
SHOULD I APPLY FOR STERN OR CAS. I guess I can transfer mid year freshman year to Stern if you guys think my grades are low
4 Bs would be significantly offset by 15(!) APs and the very strong weighted GPA they give you.
What’s your budget?
Have you run the NPC on all of them? ( Be aware that NYU 's NPC is totally unreliable. )
Academically you’re in the running but financially these have very different policies.
What about Villanova? Indiana Kelley? Baruch Honors (Macaulay?)
So I really like Indiana and Villanova. The problem with Baruch is its brand value. Indiana was actually my first choice, but people started discouraging me that it’s a bad decision to go to Villanova or Indiana since they are regional targets and not NY Targets. I strongly disagree because Villanova and Indiana are in the top 20 according to WSO Power Rankings, Bloomberg BusinessWeek, and their alumni bases are also very strong. Supposedly stronger semitatgets such as Chapel Hill and WFU don’t place anywhere near Indiana or Villanova according to the rankings since 95% of their graduates are concentrated within the Charlotte region.
Don’t obsess over rankings. Any school in the top 20 for business will be fine. Go where you’ll be happy and get a great education for a good price.
You sure this top 20 theory holds true for IB
Reputation matters somewhat for business, but not to the point where you ought to be nitpicking over where alumni live and averaging out different rankings.
Oh okay thank you so much KingBibi, I’ll go to either IU or NYU depending on how much money they make me pay. Chapel hill is only 20k instate but it’s too close to home
Since you haven’t heard from Indiana yet, I’d say odds are good you’ll have to pay 40K or so for Indiana. NYU is anyone’s guess, could be anywhere from 40 to 70K.
What about Fordham Gabelli? They’ve got excellent placement in NYC.
Baruch also has excellent placement for its honors program (but I know it’s not a top choice due to being 99% commuter).
You know your career will last 45 years, right? So, you could start in Charlotte, then show your mettle and ask for a NYC transfer. There are worse fates than UNC Kenan Flagler
I really like Gabelli NMSF gets final price to <10k, but not sure about its brand value on Wall Street. Are u sure it’s good? Everyone I talked to told me that it’s a non target
