Nyu?

People are saying it's easy to get into. Is it really? does anyone go there? anything inparticular I should do?

Woah, this totally belongs in another forum. Try posting in the NYU forum, or the college search and selection forum, or the college admissions forum.

No, NYU is not easy to get into. It's easier than say Harvard or Yale, but it's definitely a competitive college.

I think score-wise it is relatively easy. My friend got in with a 1800 SAT.

My cousin got rejected and he scored a 2200 on his SAT and went to the top public school in NYC...I guess his extra credit wasn't up to par with NYU standards...Ended up going to Bentley college for one year and transfered to NYU with a 3.95 GPA...To Stern Business school..

I know a few people that got accepted which seems fairly decent but it was the cost that they didn't go. But just the acceptance isn't VERY difficult.

It also depends on the school. Stern and Tisch are much more competitive than say CAS.

It's definitely easier to get into compared to the Ivies and the like. However, it is still very competitive(around 35% acceptance rate I think).

Also money is pretty big of an issue at NYU. Their financial aid is not very good. I've seen people with low stats but could afford to pay all get in and those with high stats but couldn't afford it get rejected.

Well, it is selective. You should ask your GC...for example, at my school, it's easy, but that's only because they like our school (like anyone 95+ gets in, whether like 3 or 20) whereas other schools they take like 0.

its the most applied to school in the country.
