Nyu

ok this isn't about getting in from hs, it's about getting in from Baruch!

Well my HS career was nottoo great because of 9th/10th grade, I ended up with a 89 GPA after junior year. but in my junior year I got a 95 gpa and this year for senior year I'm at the same point. So junior and senior year would be 95 if averaged out. I'm also taking some college credit courses. I got into Baruch and plan to attend for my first two years then I want to transfer to NYU Stern. I will definetly attempt to get a 3.9-4.0 gpa those two years. I also had some stellar EC's in HS (president of a club, made official products for NY islanders sports team, Financial internship at small firm). I plan to continue those type of things in college. So my question is, after 2 years at Baruch, with a 3.9 gpa, ECs, and some internahips, do you think I can pull off a transfer to Stern?

Another issue however is money, my Finaid EFC was $17000, so how much do you think I can get out of Stern? If I can manage to get my tuition down to $15000-$20000, would be great . Just need opinions, thanks. Btw I'm a HS senior starting college at baruch for fall 2009.

I don’t think it would be worth it to apply to NYU. A friend of mine got a financial aid offer of only $1,500 even though NYU had sent him a likely letter. Another top 25 college that meets full financial need gave him far more money – as in more than $20 k more, all need-based aid.

=S NYU is my dream school though, so how about I took this scenario and applied to wharton after 2 years at Baruch, what do you think about that? NYU is still my number one though because I know people who go there, they say it’s soo fun, and it’s in the city.
