NYUAD or Yale-NUS

the two schools seem quite similar except for their different locations..
although I'm a little more into nyuad, I'd like to hear some words from you CC people!!

Yale NUS is more selective. NYUAD is more generous with FA.

what if I got roughly the same amount of FA from both?
And both are very selective, so I don’t mind the difference between selectivity.
How would you compare the schools given that their FA offer and selectivity are almost the same?

I’m very interested in this topic as well…

FA in NYUAD is more generous. Im admitted, and many of my friends received full scholarships.

In terms of professors, it is much easier for NYUAD to source and employ professors with the NYU GNU model, whilst Yale-NUS is a collaboration that have much less supporting environment.

Yale-NUS’s curriculum is very much based on the Yale system, therefore lacking the flexibility and uniqueness NYUAD courses offer. Despite so, Yale is a top 15 university in multiple university rankings, therefore being not as unique may not even be a bad thing, really depends on what you want.

In terms of the diversity student body, Yale-NUS has 60 nationalities in 240 people, whilst NYUAD has 80 in 300.
For the admissions process itself, NYUAD has a Candidate weekend wherein all selected candidates are invited to an all expenses paid trip to Abu Dhabi to allow students to see the campus and to have and interview, whilst Yale-NUS has an online interview. Additionally, Yale-NUS is more academically based due to its “prestige” and its aim, whilst NYUAD is a lot more holistic in their judgements ranging from academics, extracurricular and all other sorts to whether or not you fit the school.
