What's you guy's financial package like? How well is financial aid for those who make around 40k-50k a years? My friend told me that their financial isn't really kind for the middle class but in terms of lower middle, how well is it?

i’m upper middle class, and i did quite well.

bumpity bump bump

i have 0 efc, my dad is unemplyed and mom makes 40 k. so my mom has 2 dependents(my sister and I) and i got 27 k in grants. the rest is student loans.

wouldn’t that be like 25k of student loans a year?

I did quite well, but I got almost everything covered in scholarships. I got the Petrie Scholarship, Tisch Scholarship, and a few others. EFC = 0. Dad unemployed, mother passed away. I got $50,000 in Scholarships, and the rest in grants, except for about $1,000 a year, which some of my outside scholarships would cover. I suppose I got very lucky. It wasn’t what I was expecting at all, based on the fact that NYU’s aid is supposedly terrible.

27 k student loans a year. lifes a ***** huh.

I did terrible.
I got a 10k scholarship, and the rest are loans.

^^Yeah me too. A 10k scholarship, some grants, but around 20k in loans.

I have no NYU scholarships but my external scholarships paid for all the tuition. You guys have to seek out external ones. Some are VERY easy to get into and the requirements are quite silly. On the safe side, look for ones on college board and well-known college websites. Be careful, there are a lot of scams (scholarships will never ask you pay anything for applying and such.)

reaaaaly bad. $3,500 scholarship. Thats it.
the rest: student loans.
I calculated my final debt with interest: $270,000.
I think I still will come though heheh.

At least you got grants, I got about 44k in loans. I just signed my “Not attending” form.
