Does anyone know anything about the reputation of NYU's undergrad philosophy department? Would majoring in philosophy at NYU v. at another school help greatly in getting into NYU's law school?

...nevermind, tied for #1 with Princeton. Would transferring into this program then be much harder than other majors?

NYU is supposed to have the best philosophy department in the country (along with Rutgers and Princeton.) This is a graduate ranking so I don't know how it tranlates into undergraduate offerings.

Do read what this site has to say about undergrad philosophy education.

I applied to NYU with an interest in studying philosophy. Ive heard that its a very good program.

thanks alot for that link, tsdad. It was very helpful!

Yeah, NYU Philosophy is one of the BEST schools you can ever go. If you graduate from there, since everyone knows that they are soooo effin strong, they will admit you to almost any humanities or arts and sciences program for grad school. They r just the best. N I know that their graduates r sooooo extremely intelligent smart guys. If I were admitted by them, I would not even give it a second though, and would go there directly!!!

would this prestige make my chances of transfer admission drastically smaller, or is it no harder to get into the philosophy undergrad program than getting into CAS?
