Well those are the things I can remember about me. I know my standardized tests are not the greatest, but I am studying for real now to get them up. I hope that my ACT composite is at least a 33 and get my SAT up at least 2100+

k thx guys

why do you want to go to caltech?

when i visited the campus i thought it was really nice looking. when i looked over their curriculum is seemed very challenging. i really enjoy math and science and caltech seems like a great school to do so

If you want to get into Caltech focus more on that passion for science and math portion of your application. What have you done that makes you one of the top applicants in the world?

What engineeringman has said is true, your ECs don’t reflect much about your passion for math and science. I’m sorry but your chances are slim.

Dear OP, let me comment like this: Caltech is a really small wonderful place to study mathematics and science. The “really small” part means they can be very picky as to who they admit, and they are. My experience is Caltech tends to favor students with closer to perfect test scores, and some significant out of school involvement in science or engineering or such.

There are so many schools out there where particularly obsessive math and science students go, and this is one where I’m inclined to believe they’ll be more choosy about because they’re focused on creating a certain kind of atmosphere.
