:O Whoa

So I took an SAT Math whole section and got a 770. What the..? This was the BB 3rd test. On the first tests, I got a 710 and 700.

Is there a reason for this? Or was I just better at questions on this test or something? Or did my thorough reviewing of the two previous tests help? I got 2 wrong on this one, which is a generous 770 and usually 2 wrong and a 3(2 of which were incorrect grid-ins) blank was 710; and 3 wrong and 2 blank was 700. Did I get better?

Thanks for the responses, I find this quite weird haha

Sometimes practice tests vary, although that’s not to say that you didn’t get better. Did you feel like the questions were easier on this test? I’m not too familiar with BB, but with other tests I have known my scores to fluctuate due to the test. It is a good sign though :)

I took my first practice test today. I missed 6 (not grids) and still got a 700.

On the October 09 SAT, if you had missed 6 you would have made 680. 3 wrong 2 omitted would have been a 690 on the scale that was used.

^Are you referring to my scale or webass’s?

In both cases the score would have been lower using the October 09 scale. The scale in the BB is not as harsh as the scale has been on the most recent SATs. I just happened to have the October 09 test.

I think if you consistently 700 or above on practice tests, the difference between a 700 and an 800 is a little luck and attention to detail (i.e. no stupid mistakes), not intelligence or better comprehension of the material.

^I guess that makes sense; I felt better concentrated today.

@ATLMOM: Yeah, i kno of the harsh curves :frowning: i thinj my score wouldve been a 740-750, not a 770.

Thanks for the replies guys! This score boosted my confidence tho :)
