wow, about 30 posts and not one mention of rush limbaugh by the liberals. That’s gotta be a record.

Are you really attacking him for joining the UN Human Rights Council? Really? REALLY?!

Of course he’s not the President of every company in the United States. GM didn’t have to ask for money. They did. AIG didn’t have to ask for money. They did. What Obama is trying to do is ensure that taxpayers get, at least some, of their money back. The Obama administration ASKED Wagoner to resign to help with the restructuring effort, which Wagoner did. I’m sure GM would not have received more money had Wagoner not resigned, but that’s the way it is. They want money, then they need to deal with the consequences. We’ve given them several months to restructure. They provided a half-a**ed restructuring plan that was nothing.

And I’m assuming nobody watched the Press Conference he held last Tuesday if you think nobody is tough on him. He got asked TOUGH questions, just 70 days into his Presidency when many Presidents have a 100 day honeymoon. He’s not complaining.

My goal in life is to gain 100 pounds, pop some painkillers, get 3 divorces in a week, and then become the head of a major political party

20 =/= 30, but close though. Just like Rush is sometimes.

Yeah… I’ve really grown disillusioned with the Democratic party recently. I’m an independent, but I think our current economic policy is a joke, and our government is becoming too overtly powerful.

Have you seen the National Debt??? Those numbers are incomprehensible. You could sell every single American for fifty thousand dollars, and we couldn’t pay that sum off. We’re spending money we don’t even have. We’re throwing several hundred billion dollars there, several hundred billion here, that now we’ve grown so desensitized to those figures that it hardly seems real. The bottom line is: We Don’t have that Money.

We clamor angrily about a few million given to bonuses, out of 170 billion dollar recovery package to AIG. AIG is a corporation, not some arm of the government. They need some talented top industry people to save these corporations, and they expect people to come seeking work to some company that can’t pay competitive salaries? What is this, Communist Russia? Are we going to chain them to the desks and make them work at gun point? We need to make the ones who screwed up pay, but still we need to keep those who are doing their jobs to continue doing their jobs. Instead the administration has given over to the pitchfork mob, and are dictating policy that should be beyond the reach of government authority.

Keynesian economics is a complete joke, and those who bought into it don’t seem to realize it. It’s easier to put off monumental costs for later and seem like you’re actually doing something now. At this rate, the American dollar is going to be worthless. We’re basically figuratively printing out money at face value, without the goods or services to back them up. Sure, we’re not running the printing presses, but a congressional bill that says “700 billion dollars” might as well be seven billion hundred dollar bills.

You think the economy is bad now? Just wait until people realize that the greenbacks in your wallets are just pieces of metallic smelling paper with a grim looking president printed on it. Paper money isn’t even backed up by gold… its our idea of its value that keeps it afloat. Just like the fanciful idea that we have several hundred billion dollars lying around in our vaults…

This isn’t exactly a new problem. Nor is it exactly a problem.

The problem isn’t the massive deficit spending during recessions, it’s the massive deficit spending during times of growth. Losing a couple trillion dollars to spur the economy is only an issue because more than that has already been thrown away to the military for useless wars or to mass produce arms.

While I’m not here to defend Bush (I don’t think he was a great president by any means), let’s just remember that a lot of the bad decisions that are chalked up to him were actually made by the Democratic congress. Not only did they make lots of terrible decisions, but they also tried to block Bush every time he tried to do something. Now the country is headed to h*** in a handbasket, and I hope the liberals are happy.

6 of the 8 years Bush was in office, the Republicans were in control. People seem to conveniently forget this.

^I believe the Democrats had control of the Senate for about a year during Bush’s first term, so that should be 5/8 with control of all 3 branches of government.

Hey OP

I’m not gonna began a discussion but where did u get your facts? And please don’t tell me is TV or radio, I want legit facts here.

Obama is barely in office, give the guy I break… I didn’t start hating bush until he made sure America was F***ed in debt

Obama’s not liberal at all are you guys joking?

-he won’t nationalize the banks
-he spent over half of the stimulus money on tax cuts which won’t stimulate anything
-he won’t pull out of iraq any sooner than the iraqis are kicking us out
-he’s putting more troops in afghanistan
-his health care plan is hardly better than the one we already have, and before anyone bashes single-payer, the world health organization ranks single-payer systems far above ours
-and best of all, the government is still allowed to do warrantless wiretaps

^ The world health organization kicks ass

but they could do better

I feel the same exact way and the debt is going to screw us, our kids and grandkids over.

And we just spend, spend, spend…

Yes they’re a corporation, that the government owns 80% of.

I’d rather deal with debt than another Great Depression.

Obama is doing a LOT to help out students in college and with college loans. As a college freshman next year, I know I am getting a hll of a lot more money than my sister did when she started as a freshman four years ago when we were in similar circumstances.

At least Obama has his priorities straight. McCain would have focused on the war and neglected the economy. We’ve all seen how well that goes these last 7 years.

Most importantly, support our president. Stop btching about him being a socialist. He is NOT. In fact, he is growing more and more conservative every day. Whether you like the guy or not, do ** NOT ** root for him to fail. If he fails, America fails. I did not like Bush, but I NEVER rooted for him to fail. Even after I lost my brother-in-law to a screwed up war started by Bush, I never rooted for him to fail. People, wake up. The election is over. Republicans, you lost. You’ll get another shot in 4 years. In the mean time, don’t sit there and complain about what is going on if you plan to just sit and complain rather than give viable ideas about what we can do. Rather, go out and do something about it or sit back and shut up while others do.

pink panther, I’m not for the controversial topic started, which perhaps is not going anywhere, but you certainly don’t sound like a teenager, more like a parent impersonating a teenager, or a very sour teen- in the best possible scenario. That is my 2 cents, and I am out of here. Lighten up, and support your president, you have 4 years of Obama, wether you like it or not.

The collapse of the economy was brought on by and occurred on the watch of George Bush. Everyone with half a brain knew that whoever inherited Bush’s mess would have a rough patch. It was just hard to know which of the disasters he was responsible for–Iraq, the crappy job he did in Afghanistan, the economy, our national prestige, undermining the rule of law, destruction of the environment, etc., would be the worst.

“4. Most importantly, support our president. Stop b*tching about him being a socialist. He is NOT. In fact, he is growing more and more conservative every day.”

he’d be considered right-wing in almost every country in the world and i didn’t support bush and won’t support obama, i only voted for obama because mccain/palin would have been a disaster, the usa wouldn’t exist right now if they had won.

When did I say anything about socialism or I wanted him to fail? I wanted him to win in November, I still support him. I’ll always support the president. I may not agree with a president, but he is still the president.

If you don’t support the President then leave the country
