Obama on campus along with accepted students on thursday

So this Thus/Fri is the first accepted students visiting days. On thursday, President Obama will be giving a speech at the Law School (right next to BJ/South Campus for those not familiar).

When we had a President visit our little town, all the roads he was to drive on was blocked off for hours before. So be prepared for some traffic diversion, road blocks etc. if you will be on campus. Lake Shore Drive may be impacted as well.

Seems like not the best day to create more complexity, unless…he’s bringing his daughter along :D?

A lot of people have assumed Malia Obama is headed to HYPS. I can see why that’s a possibility.

I personally think the school where her father taught for many years and the city where she spent her early childhood could be two big pulls. Of course, those same factors could easily be negatives. It depends on what Malia’s plans are, and we won’t know until the family announces her choice publicly.

Do you know if there’s any chance that prospective students will be able to get into the speech? I’ll be visiting on those two days and everyone’s curious.

@NotVerySmart Insider informatin(from Sidwell) has confirmed that she’s heading to Harvard. Could be rumors though.

@theleenbean, the tickets to these events are distributed in advance so I doubt a prospie would be able to get in. It is actually fun even watching the whole entourage drive by though.

@theleenbean current uchicago students can’t even go
