I predict that Barack Obama will become president in either 2012, 2016 or 2020.

He is a cross between Kennedy and FDR; he has the poise of JFK and when you really look at him he has the same intellectual progressive ideals as FDR. He is one of the most intellectual men in politics.

Here we go again...listen, every president in U.S. history had great moments and terrible moments. Based on your political orientation, you're going to say that all respective Democratic Presidents or Republican Presidents were horrible.

FDR did more for the working class than any other president, but he also never raised the unemployment. JFK was a great speaker, and the main reason why he is so renown is because he was assassinated...he never really did anything (didn't have the time, sadly) while in office.

it doesn't matter if your not a republican or democrat. I didn't say "Political party", I said "political orientation", everyone believes in certain political ideals, and that is the basis of one's opinions on good or bad political figures.

I don't want to sound racist or anything, but do you really think a Black president is a likely possibility in this country? I'd support him, but think about a majority of America. It just wouldn't fly.

I think that in 2012 or so we'd be able to elect a Black president. But I agree that right now there probably is too much racism and bias in the rest of America.

I think we are ready now, Colin Powell and Condi as SS helped.

I think just having a black president in office would help A LOT to combat racism; it would be a huge step for equality. Just like a woman president.

I love Barack Obama. I would definately vote for him. Unfortunately, our country is not ready to see a black president (or any minority president in general).

Wow, so maybe I'm a sheltered white girl but I'm completely bowled over by the fact that so many people seem to think that the US "isn't ready" for a black president. Even here in hickland I don't see how it could possibly be a problem.

Anyway, much <333 for Obama. I don't agree with every single thing he's said - namely concerning the whole religion thing that popped up last June - but I do think that he's the best chance we have right now to turn America back to its intellectually sound roots.

I don't get it. The guy makes one speech. One. And suddenly the entire Democratic party is falling head over heels. He's got a nice pedigree (Columbia?, and Harvard Law), but does he have any experience running an organization like the beast that is the Federal government? No. I'd say he needs for time to get an understanding of what it means to govern.

That being said: He'll run in 2012 if the Democrats lose in 2008, 2016 if they win.
