<p>Hey everyone, I just sent my ED 1 app to Oberlin and I'm wondering if I should have bothered... This is my first choice school and I'd give my kidneys to go there so if you could chance me that'd be great.
intended major- biology
GPA- 3.65 unweighted, 5.54 weighted
Rank- top 10 percent, 52 of 616
APs- US History, Biology, English Language, English Literature (I took Language/US History last year and scored 4s on both
The rest of my classes have been honors
ACT-30 (34 English, 33 reading, 29 science, 25 math)
ACT Scholar
Illinois State Scholar
I'm applying as an athlete (I would be playing volleyball, I've been talking to the coach for about a year now)
I've visited twice, interviewed once
Interview went really well, my interviewer and I had a long discussion about cello concertos
My senior year is all honors and AP
Sports/Clubs
Volleyball- 4 years, 2 on varsity
Track- 1 year, 1 on varsity
Orchestra- 4 years, cellist, top orchestra 3 years, freshman orchestra my freshman year
Marching Band- baton twirler, 4 years, only twirler for 3 years (my sis came to high school for 2012 football season)
NHS- 2 years, only juniors and seniors allowed</p>

<p>I agree that you have a good shot at getting in. I was going to apply to Oberlin too, but parents prohibited me from doing double degree between the conservatory and college, so not anymore. :frowning: Your scores are within range and you have good ECs, so I’d say it’s a match.
