With ED notification only two days away, I thought it would be a good idea to create a thread for ED results. You don’t have to post your stats, but it would be nice if you included a little blurb about yourself (state, intended major, what attracted you to Oberlin)
hi all! we’re from MA, and my D is so passionate in her desire to go to Oberlin; as she feels it is such a great fit for her academically and socially. A tough week here waiting! She is deeply involved in theater, music, social justice and very interested in gender studies and psychology. I heard recently from someone that an admissions officer shared that notification would be tomorrow. Best of luck to all!
We are from Maryland, right outside of DC. My daughter is really hoping for good news tomorrow because Oberlin a perfect fit for her. She plans to study creative writing and Japanese right now but is also interested in gender studies. She went on the Regional Fly-in from DC and that’s how she fell in love with Oberlin. I’ve told several other colleges they need to do a fly-in program because it allows the students to go on their own and doesn’t require parents taking time off and paying to visit. If she gets in I’m excited to visit though!
@radioflyer I’m originally from MA and headed there on Sunday for a visit. I prefer summer visits though!
I’m from Wilmington, North Carolina. Very involved with 19th century photographic processes and fine art photography in general. Looking to study film, Latin American studies, art history, or visual art. I was interested in Oberlin’s photography program because of the head of the photo department, visited and fell in love with the artistic and thoughtful community fostered there.
@radioflyer@LMC9902@walkbanx I wish you guys the best of luck!! I’m from New York City, and I am very involved with volunteer and health advocacy work. I volunteer in the recovery room of a local hospital, and plan to study Neuroscience. I first became interested in Oberlin because of its strong social justice and advocacy work (it was the first school to admit African-Americans and women) as well as its strong programs in the sciences.
that’s what I’ve heard, but then someone else said the admissions office told them today that it could be “anytime from tomorrow through the end of the week”. ack. Wishing you the best of luck @willowandmoon!
So I called the admissions office and they said it could be any day this week, emailed my rep and she said that acceptances will be posted BY Thursday? Not sure if that means before or on Thursday.
Seems like it’s going to be tomorrow. A friend called admissions and asked if anything is coming out today, and “as far as they knew” nobody will be notified till tomorrow.
