Oberlin, other LACs

Well I should be hearing any day now anyway, but I figured I'd check to see what everyone thought anyway.

Oberlin-ED (By far number 1)
Bates
Vassar
Wesleyan
Dickinson
Skidmore

White male, suburb of Philadelphia.

3.6/4, 4.5/5 gpa

V:750 M:710 W:800

SATII: Writing: 800, Literature: 740, US History: 740

Ap tests: Euro: 4 US: 4 Lit and Comp: 3 (oops...)

5 APs this year, two last year, one the year before.
(All advanced classes in history, english, etc. I don't like math or science so those classes I take either honors or on grade level)

ECs: Fair amount but (eek!) no/very little leadership. Model UN, Church Youth Group/musician for choir, graduated from "Citizens Police Academy", write for foreign affairs/literary journals at school, Democratic Nat'l Committee volunteer.

Lots of work experience in responsibility-oriented positions.

Good recommendations, very good essays.

What do you all think about my chances at these places?

Thanks for the input!

(Edit to include AP scores and SAT IIs)

The fact that you're male (a dying breed at small artsy LACs) tips you over to "accepted" for all of them.

you have great SAT scores, but i'm not quite sure about your ECs...

yeah, definitely not my strong point. although there are a couple i didnt mention, and i forgot national merit commended and ap scholar. (not that those really mean anything, but still.)

also, my job as a host at a local upscale restaurant takes up 15-20 hours a week after school.

please add to that list, by the way, connecticut college and holy cross

i'm not 100 percent sure, but i think you're what oberlin is looking for in terms of stats and grades... ap tests i think could be a bit better, but they're not horrible.

so i would say if you're lucky, accept and definitely defer otherwise. no reject. you're better than rejection!

:)

good luck!
