Has anyone attended this or other Performing Arts College Fairs? Do you think this would be helpful for a junior--cellist thinking about conservatory or music major within a school.

We did attend a Performing Arts College Fair when my son was a junior--actually I think it was fall of his senior year. He did get some valuable information from it, although I don't think it changes his list of schools much, if any. However, it might be more useful to a junior who probably doesn't have a list yet and could talk to different college reps and get a better idea of what is required for admission, how many cellists they take a year, etc.

This came up a while back in the thread at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=223130&page=2
at and after message #23.

gee that link is to me

here is a link to a site that will show you what cities, dates and the univerisities and conservatories attending the big arts fairs.

just highlight the city you are interested in "Event" and hit search. Some are twice as big as others.

I looked at Oberlin page and their list is pretty small. Oberlin is a nice place to visit and if you havent been there and it would kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

FluteMomLiz - I must be doing something wrong, I can't locate the Oberlin Fair - only the larger national performing arts fairs (Atlanta, Boston etc.) seem to be coming up. Even when I search by Oberlin I just get the other national ones. Can someone help me?

Thanks, Zeppelin!
