Just wanted to start this thread since the application deadline is coming up in less than a month! I'm sure people will have questions and comments. Looking forward to hearing from others who are in the same place I am regarding the application process.

hello there. applying rd to oberlin, among many other places. oberlin sounds amazing, only con is location. I’m in NJ and both my parents and I want me to be a car ride from home, albeit I would be fine with anything east coast but they would prefer less than 4 hours drive.
i really love bryn mawr so I’m applying there ED. the results are due to come on my eighteenth birthday.
before I didn’t think I had that great a shot at oberlin but I emailed my admissions counselor a question and his response was the next morning and pretty encouraging.
i know i’d fit in there, if i don’t end up there i could definitely see myself teaching there in the future.
question, I got emails with letters from both departments I am interested in majoring in, hispanic studies and creative writing. does everyone get these for their interests or no. no other school has done that, but oberlin may just be classy.
@rach131 I got these emails as well after applying.
did u get a letter from oberlin about financial aid, about a dependent verification form?
I did.
I got really nervous when I got a small letter from Oberlin.
i applied rd to both oberlin and smith, and they use the same kind of application portal. i did apply for financial aid and neither school is need blind.
for smith under award, its says currently under review.
for oberlin, in presto, it says no award info is available at this time.
is this a bad sign for oberlin (and a good sign for smith)?
did anyone get an email today from the dean of arts and sciences with the subject line study at oberlin?
@rach131 I got this email
does anyone have a new link in presto under the financial aid one called: student enrollment- it has a description of: on-line enrollment.
then when I click on it, a page comes up saying this:
Oberlin College On-line Enrollment

My S received a very nice email from Michael Manderen (Director of Conservatory Admissions) today, just following up to thank him for coming to the regional audition. I’m sure this is sent to all audition participants and is not any indication of acceptance or rejection, but it’s awfully nice of them to reach out and keep the lines of communication open. My opinion of Oberlin keeps getting higher. Fingers crossed for an acceptance :-SS and best of luck to everyone!
My D said that some kids at her school got emails that they have been accepted RD. Anyone here? Are these “early writes?”
@donotworry Now I’m worrying, lol.
u sure it was for RD and not ED 2. was it for conservatory or arts and science? were they recruited athletes?
students who participated in the access oberlin program get their acceptances earlier than other RD applicants
All is still…
Does anyone know when RD decisions are going to be released?
@epancotti They’ll be released April 1st. I believe there will be an email as well as snail mail
Looks like decisions were released via email on Mar 26 last year:

Also dying for some word soon…
emailed my guidance counselor. he estimated maybe the 26th, but he wasn’t sure and not to hold him to it.
My D got her email acceptance very early on March 27 last year.
