Hello All,
I am a Freshman currently enrolled at Oberlin College. Figuring out this school wasn't for me came pretty quickly, and I've decided to apply to transfer to Steinhardt for Music Composition, mainly for their Film Scoring program. My portfolio is pretty awesome, as studying in the Conservatory here has helped me improve greatly in those areas, but I contacted the admissions office and they "rarely take spring freshman transfers". I think I am a great candidate for this school personally, but don't want to have to wait a full year to apply again because I didn't wait to apply for Fall 2013. I know I won't have another semester at Oberlin regardless of whether I get in (which is why I am applying to multiple schools) so I don't see how waiting until second semester to apply is really necessary. Here are some of my stats anyway:

HS:
3.5/4 UW
4.1/5 W
2090 SAT

College:
Currently in 1st semester: 14 Conservatory and Liberal Arts Credits
Achieving very well

Is there any advice anyone could give me? I think all of the "chancing" things on this forum are kind of useless in a way since you never know whats going to happen, but just letting me know the type of place I'm in as a transfer would be nice.

Thanks!
