Oberlin.

I have fallen in love with Oberlin College in Ohio and what it seems to have to offer. The issue is i am not sure of my chances of getting in. Unfortunatly i am thinking they are lower rather than higher. (i would want to enter the liberal arts and sciences college).

My GPA is a 3.6, Sat 1550, Act 19.
I am a passionate student with average grades.

What do you think?

If your SATs are for all 3 tests (not just M+CR), then they are low for Oberlin. On the CR section, more than half of Oberlin students score in the 700-800 range, and only 11% below 600.

If you’re not a senior, maybe you can raise them. In any case, it would be a good idea to think about what features make Oberlin so attractive to you, then look for similar features in a less selective school. For example, Lawrence University has much in common with Oberlin. It, too, is a small, private Midwestern liberal arts college with a music conservatory attached. However, some 21% of Lawrence students in a recent entering class scored below 600 on the SAT-CR.

Or what does anyone think/ have heard about the College of Wooster in Ohio.

College of Wooster is a good school, known for providing merit aid for students. Great if you play the bagpipes.
