Obligatory "zOmg Chance me" post

Well i've already applied early action and am eagerly awaiting the response but in the meantime i'm feeling increasingly worried. It seems like everybody who's applied has done research. Idk heres my stats

GPA: School doesn't give em out of 4, but i've got about 100 flat after weighting, i think like 97-8 before
Rank 3/460
SAT: 760M; 800CR; 660 W
ACT 35 (36 in M and Sci)
SAT II: 800 math 2; 800 Physics; 790 Chem
APs: Bio, chem, physics, us history, euro history, language and macro - all 5's
Took math at SUNY buffalo for all of high school - currently on linear algebra
Currently enrolled in 3 APs and taking more supplemental courses at SUNY buffalo including economics, poli sci and comp sci.

Essays: Felt very strong, especially in comparison with other essays i've previously written. supplemental essay was especially artfully done, but then again i haven't seen other caltech applicants to compare

EC's is where it all falls apart. No real science or math ec's other than science olympiad (went to states). No research. Taken summer programs in science but i'm not sure how much those weigh in.

Is the lack of research and competitions gonna kill this for me?

well, i think you should still apply. you don't really have anything to loose by applying so ill say you should give it a shot

good luck! :D

you definitely have a good shot
Im not sure about why you have no research experience
but if you spent time on others, why not highlight that part?
Caltech still need something fresh, new, extraordinary

A lot of the NY applicants seem to have research experience, but that certainly won't keep this application from serious consideration in the RD pool.
