Obscure indie/alternative bands

You guys should listen to legitimate avant-garde music. Harrison Birtwistle. GO.

Anyone like Richard Cheese? hahahahaha.

No, but Lounge Against the Machine is an awesome name.

Just imagine Nine Inch Nail’s “Closer” (and the like) being sung in a lounge, Frank Sinatra style. It’s brilliant.

Yeah, not many HKers (from what I know) are really into indie music. HK has this store called White Noise Records that sells a lot of less mainstream music, though, i think. In Causeway. I have some friends that get music there. I’m more of a torrents kind of person, though. :p

^ Torrents all the way. I think I’ve heard of White Noise Records, but I’ve never actually been. Thanks for letting me know though :D

I don’t get this obsession with obscure bands. Just because popularity does not imply greatness does not mean that obscurity does.
Runs away to avoid being lynched by indie fans

Damien Rice and NHM aren’t obscure are they?
I don’t think I listen to any obscure music, but let me check.

Great Caesar (It’s a band at Yale)
Within Temptation (Really famous actually, just foreign)
Jos

I’m assuming you’ve heard the Bloody Beetroots song Warp 1.9 w/ Steve Aoki. Effing AWESOME on loud speakers with booming bass. (or even headphones)

I am a DJ at my college and the Bloody Beetroots are on the Heavy Rotation playlist. It’s weird.

Did you know that Jason Schwartzman used to be the drummer for Phantom Planet? Fun fact. Anyway, I haven’t heard “Big Brat” in such a long time. I loved that song and music video. But that was like 6 years ago?
