Could anyone tell me about Jewish life at Chicago. What is it like for a kid from a modern orthodox yeshiva who keeps kosher in the undergraduate school?

there's a kosher deli, and I know a lot of observant jews who do perfectly fine, and observe shabbat and whatnot.

Lots of my Jewish friends are involved in Hillel.

I saw that Hillel is offering Pesach meals via online signup. There is also a campus Chabad group -- Chabad Jewish Center at the University of Chicago & Hyde Park. There is also an Orthodox minyan on campus. I'd suggest contacting Hillel to see what resources are available.

Here's another list of shuls in the Chicagoland area -- though the Orthodox community seems to be at the far north end of town. Chicago Synagogues: The Jewish Chicago Synagogue and Worship Directory

obsessed mom,
My S is a first year grad student and has gotten involved in a small Conservative Chavurah. He has told me that there are far more students involved in both the Orthodox and Reform aspects of the Hillel. Chabad is also located nearby to the Hillel.
