Observations on ED/EA Decision Round

ED/EA decisions came out on a Thursday one week apart. For the past few years all decisions came out on Tuesdays. What this means for the RD decision round no one knows. Decisions did come out in the expected week though.

Keep in mind that there were about 1000 ED applicants and over 20,000 EA applicants and only a few hundred have reported their results here on CC. It is not likely a representative sample.

There were denials in both the ED and EA round, although not many.

There were a handful of students in both ED and EA offered NU In although fewer than last year it appears.

The “guaranteed sophomore transfer” option is new and a few students received it in both ED and EA.

The max merit aid appears to be $27,000/year, the new Honors Scholarship. (The $30,000/year NMF Scholarship is only awarded after the NMF designation is finalized.)

^ @TomSrOfBoston , I believe I saw a couple of $28K/year merit awards for Honors Scholarship - so the max seems to be 28K.

That NMF announcement can’t come fast enough. I considered playing the lottery today, which might not be a sound financial strategy.
