See, I can’t tell whether you’re being sarcastic or not, so why don’t you tell me?

I’ll give you a hint: Take a look around Edith Memorial Chapel next time you’re there.

You understand I’ve been there once… right?

@Bullneck:

I’m afraid I fall more on the side of SkiEurope and mrnephew on this particular thread. Yes, the OP is new (and somewhat naive), but that does not really excuse A) her “carpet bombing” approach to thread starting; and B) her apparent hubris (tongue in cheek does not really come across in posts unless the poster is known for that or it is written OTT) in posting that she “knows more about Andover than Andover students”.

Both of those actions, IMO, will open you up to a bit of a drubbing here on CC/BS Forum. And I think rightly so. If some newb came on the forum and made the same claim about SAS, I’d probably call them out on it. Actually I did somewhat recently…some adult poster referred to “Noxontown Lake”, which IMO shows a total lack of familiarity with the school.

I don’t mean to foster a “chilling effect” here, but as I’ve hinted at in other threads, there are more effective ways to use the site than starting a zillion new threads (with questions that have been answered in countless other threads over the YEARS this board has been active). And humility never hurts.

Hi grace567! I’m also suffering from this symptom… :(

Well, I’ve obviously stepped into the wrong den, so to speak. Last thing I need in my life is negativity on an internet forum of all things, so I think I’m going to check out.

Happy fourth to you all!

@grace: I really didn’t intend to run you off. If you review my post history and general track record on the forum, I think you’ll see that I generally try to be helpful to folks new and old.

That said, I do think that many kids spend a bit too much time on the forum, which can serve to spin up anxiety about the whole process. A quick glance at the first page shows 6 threads started by you relatively recently…which I’m sure is just because you’re excited about the prospects of BS…but to longer-termers (well, at least to me) that is an inauspicious start to life on CC.

I certainly hope you don’t abandon CC just because you perceive some “negativity” being thrown your way. Best of luck with your search and application process.

Good luck to you, @grace567!
on March 10 not April 10!
