Occidental vs Bucknell

So I have narrowed down my decision between these two schools. However, I am very conflicted on which school to choose. Which school has a better biochemistry program? I would have to pay a little more to attend Bucknell but that is not an issue. I just want to find a school that would give me a better chance for medical school.

If you are female, there is the rape issue at Oxy.

Oxy is a wonderful school, despite the bad press. You can absolutely get into med school from either school. I would choose the one with the least cost, as medical school is expensive. Remember to factor in travel costs.

They’re both ranked similarly. I would go where you’d be happiest. Oxy is in California, which is a lot prettier and warmer than PA (my home state!). Oxy is also very diverse, whereas bucknell is pretty “white bread.” Don’t be intimidated by the bad press Oxy is getting. Truth is that rape happens on all campuses. It’s scary, but sadly it’s not a problem specific to Oxy. Plus, the positive thing is you can see how the student body is reacting. It’s clear the students are activist, they’re strong, there’s a real community there. Crisis often brings out the best in us. Personally, I’d choose Oxy
