Ochem 1 -> Ochem 2 HELP

Hey guys

I recently received a D+ in Organic Chemistry I. I had not expected such a grade and had already signed up for Organic Chemistry II for the summer session. So I was wondering if I should retake Ochem I or just stick with Ochem II and then retake Ochem I (which is easier) during the busier fall semester. Granted that I will work very hard, is Organic Chemistry II significantly harder without complete grasping of the first part of ochem?

It might not be the same at all schools. Maybe try asking the professor who will be teaching ochem2?

I don't know how your school works, but mine goes by the semester system.

I have finished both, and I found Ochem 2 more difficult because it built on the knowledge learned in Ochem 1. I think that if you didn't quite get the material in the first part of the course, it will be an uphill battle to understand the second part. There is a greater amount of information in Ochem 2 and the difficulty level is upped because of that.

Therefore, I would suggest retaking Ochem 1. Oh, and taking Ochem 2 in the summer sounds suicidal.

Just my two cents.

Retake Ochem1. I doubt your school will even let you take ochem2, don't you need a C or better? Regardless, you have to know ochem1 in order to do ochem2, I would retake it immediately. Why do you want to go ahead and take ochem2 and then retake ochem1 later anyways? It doesn't make much sense.
