For those of you who had Bruice for ochem109a, was an access code needed for online webwork? I'm not sure what is required for the class as listed in the ucsb bookstore site.

Bruice wrote the book so all her “homework” is straight out of there. It’s not really homework but more like practice problems you need to do for the test. There is no online homework system like in genchem or calc. Your grade is based on 2 out of 3 midterms and your final. So basically get the book and the solutions manual…thats all I ever used for all 3 quarters. I have no idea if this is true but I heard that they are using a new edition of her book this year…so check about that.

How hard is 2nd year when you have to take ochem, bio and physics? Is it manageable and should a person only take 4 classes?

I got o-chem, o-chem lab, calc 3b, and some stupid filler class (sports sociology?), and i’m overwhelmed.

What do you think about this schedule for premeds? Manageable?

@binder20, it’s manageable but not easy. im not premed but im following this route similarly. i moved the physics 6 series to my junior year in order to avoid having 3 labs during the winter and spring quarters. study on time, take CLAS if you need to, and you’ll do fine.

@ucsbpremed, btw thanks
