OCT 23rd ACT Test Scores

My son has applied to FSU for summer 2012. When he applied - his best score was a 23. He retook the ACT on Oct 23rd and got it up to a 24 with a 26 in English/Math, 25 reading, 24 science, so maybe the superscore will be a 25 or so. It says on the status page that scores received after the term deadline will not be considered. So new and improved scores that they receive after October 17th deadline are not considered?

Anybody? Anybody? lol

I’m confused by the term deadline designation. What term deadline? Is that the application deadline?

I have always thought that the admissions department would absolutely use updated scores provided prior to the decision date, certainly those received prior to November. But, hey, I could be wrong. Have you asked the admissions department?

sorry I should have just copied and pasted the exact verbiage. This is the verbiage. I did not have it worded correctly:

"If you have taken the SAT and/or ACT more than once, the results listed above reflect the most recent test date and the best scores in each section that we have received. If you feel that the above subscores are not your highest, please contact SAT and/or ACT to have those scores sent. If you have submitted an ACT score, it must be accompanied by the ACT Writing Test; otherwise, the ACT score will not be used in the admission process. Any results received after the deadline for a given notification date will not be considered in that particular admission decision.

Freshman Deadlines

All information used to make an admission decision must be received by the published deadlines. In addition, the University reserves the right to close freshman admission earlier if warranted by enrollment limitations and the number and quality of applications. There are two deadlines and corresponding notification dates for freshmen applying for either the summer or fall term. The University does not generally accept freshman applications for the spring term.

I would forward the new scores to the university considering that there are still nearly 5 weeks remaining before the early admission decisions are announced.

If you have at least one set of ACT scores on file already, provided that the new scores get in to FSU in time, they will look at the October testing date results as well.
